GCSE RESULTS DAY

24th August 2017

On Thursday 24th August 2017, Year 11 students at Ash Hill Academy achieved the best set of exam results in the history of the Academy.  A record number of students achieved higher grades in both English and Maths, with a number of students gaining the new grade 9 – a standard reached by only a small percentage of students nationally.

John Higgins, Principal of Ash Hill Academy, said: “I am extremely pleased with the significant improvements that we have seen with these results, especially in a year when so many changes have been made to GCSEs at a national level.  The partnership between staff, students and parents has been particularly strong this year and has resulted in a fantastic set of outcomes.  These results are further evidence of the benefits that our Academy is gaining by working within the Delta Academies Trust.”

There were notable performances from Tailer Haythorne (English Language 9, English Literature 8, Mathematics 7, Science A, Additional Science A, Further Additional Science A, Geography A and Sociology A), Molly-Jo Rafferty (English Language 9, English Literature 6, Mathematics 6, Science A, Additional Science A, Further Additional Science B, Geography A* and  Performing Arts Distinction*), Kyle Goddard (English Language 7, English Literature 6, Mathematics 7, Science A, Additional Science A, Further Additional Science A*, Geography A*, Resistant Materials A and ICT Distinction) and Brandon Chung (English Language 7, Mathematics 8, Biology A, Chemistry A, Physics A, Geography A* and French C).
