12th May 2017

On Thursday 11th May 2017, a group of our Post 16 Health & Social Care students visited the Doncaster Royal Infirmary, along with their teacher Mrs Doyle. The visit allowed the students an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the careers they may wish to pursue, and to look at future careers in the Health & Social Care sector, as they talked to professionals.

The group received really positive feedback from the organisers, Sheffield Hallam University and Doncaster Royal Infirmary, saying, “Your students are a real credit to the academy”. Mrs Doyle and Mrs Wilkinson (Learning Manager, Post 16) both agree that the students showed great confidence in talking with professionals, regarding careers in nursing, occupational therapy, and other care sectors.

The students have also been invited to take part in a practical workshop, run by Sheffield Hallam University, next month.
