    During Period 3 on Friday 7th July 2017, Year 7 assembled in the Auditorium for a presentation given by guest speakers from South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue.

    The presentation was delivered by Community Fire Safety Officers Andy Hall and Charlie Fox, beginning with an introduction to the scenario and questions about student attendance at Crucial Crew workshops. The focus of the presentation was on Arson and Hoax Calls, which students had covered briefly at Crucial Crew, but were eager to share the knowledge abou

    All year groups will be having an assembly in the Auditorium on Friday 7th July 2017. The schedule will be as follows:

    08:25 am - Year 10 will be collected from the academy gates for a prompt 08:25 am start.

    08:55 am - Year 7 students will be escorted by their Period 1 teachers to the Auditorium for a prompt 08:55 am start.

    09:30 am - Year 8 students will be escorted by their Period 2 teachers to the Auditorium for a prompt 09:30 am start.

    09:55 am - Year 9 students will be escorted by their Period 2 teachers t

    Last night a host of staff, students and their families attended the July 2017 Celebration Evening. With barely an empty seat in the Auditorium, it was fantastic to see so many people supporting the occassion, which celebrated the successes and achievements of our students. Amongst the invited guests were Alumni speakers - one formerly of Hatfield High School, and one formerly of both Hatfield Visual Arts College and latterly Ash Hill Academy - who kindly offered to act as hosts for the Subject Awards.

    On Friday 30th June 2017, our current Year 11 students had their final, 'Leavers' Assembly at Ash Hill Academy. The event was well attended by both students and staff, though some staff necessarily could not attend due to supporting/delivering lessons.

    With images and videos from their time at Ash Hill Academy, the 'Leavers' were treated some fantastic memories and humorous awards as their final farewell as the Class of 2017. We wish all of our 'Leavers' the very best for their futures beyond the academy, an

    The July Attendance Competition involves all students who achieve 100% attendance from Monday 3rd July to Wednesday 19th July 2017, who will then be given their attendance certificate as a pass to the academy in non uniform on the last day of term. In addition all form groups, who as a team achieve 100% attendance in the same time period, will have a treat delivered to them during form time on the final day of term (Thursday 20th July 2017).     On Tuesday 27th June 2017, approximately 60 students from Years 8 and 9 were taken to the University of Bradford, by Mr Reynolds, Mrs Claybourn, Mr Johnston and Mr Parsons. The students took part in a #PoweringTransformation workshop, a fully funded, one-day programme developed by The Transformation Trust and supported by Dell. This exciting programme provides the opportunity for a school to send 60 students in Years 7-9, to take part in a workshop using the latest Dell technology in a creative and interest

    This is an update following the Doncaster Schools Athletics Championships on Monday (19th) and Tuesday (20th) last week.

    The Year 7 and 8 students competed on a very hot Monday! Our best performers, who came in the top 6 in the finals, were:

    Mason Clark (Yr 7) - Discus 2nd place with a throw of 16.9m

    Georgia Cherowbrier (Yr 7) - Javelin 4th place with a throw of 14.5m

    William Wood (Yr 7) - 5th place with a throw of 19.25m

    Chelsea Bisby (Yr 8) - 4th place 100m in 14.35s

    Jack Evans (Yr 8) - 5th place 100m in 13.3s

    This week all year group assemblies are postponed due to the Auditorium being used for Year 6 Transition activities. Could all students please report to their Form Class at the appropriate time.

    On Tuesday 27th June 2017 the academy will be hosting a Year 6 Parents/Carers Open Day, where the families of Year 6 students will have an opportunity to attend a one to one meeting with a member of staff, to ask any questions and discuss any concerns. It will also be an opportunity to speak with Mrs Hayes from the medical/first aid team, to ensure all students' individual needs are met.

    After a brief postponement, the Drama Club enrichment will reopen on Monday 26th June 2017 and run on Monday afternoons 2:30-3:30pm. Sessions will be lead by Mrs Wigham in W4 - all students are welcome to attend.

    The South Yorkshire Athletics Championships took place at the Keepmoat on a wet and windy Saturday, 10th June. 5 of our students were selected to represent Doncaster as mentioned last week. Unfortunately, Tyler White was unable to attend, but the other 4 students attended and competed extremely well as part of the Doncaster Team.

    Luke Lyon Year 9 finished 4th in the Junior boys 100m final with a time of 12.4 secs

    William Wood Year 7 finished 5th in the cricket ball throw with a distance of 35.27 metres and 8t

    One of our caring and dedicated Year 11 students, Imogen Oates, is currently undertaking a fundraising campaign for Cancer Research UK. Inspired by family and friends who have and are battling cancer, Imogen is aiming to walk 10,000 steps every day in the month of June, in order to raise at least £30 for the charity.

    Mr Bullock will be running four golf sessions at the Kingswood Golf Centre, starting on Wednesday 21st June 2017, for four weeks as part of Enrichment. There is a limit of 10 students each week, so if you are interested in golf and would like to attend, please see Mr Bullock urgently.

    Following the athletics trials that were held before half term, the students below have been selected to represent Doncaster in the South Yorkshire Athletics Championships on Saturday, 10th June at the Keepmoat.
