    Following "Meerkat May", the attendance competition this month will be Jam-packed June! As the name implies, the competition is literally jam-packed with prizes for the best attending pupils and Top Form, including:

    This morning our Year 7 and some Year 8 students were treated to a performance regarding social responsibility. Two actors (Taylor and Doc) provided an exciting and informative performance from the award-winning, national touring, ‘Bin It!’ roadshow. With questions about ‘Who Litters?’, ‘Why Do We Litter?’, and ‘Where Is Your Favourite Clean Place’, the students were engaged and enthused throughout. The performance was also attended by local councillors and Delta Academy Trust staff.

    As of today (Thursday 24th May 2017), Year 11 End of Year Prom tickets are available to purchase. The price per ticket is £25, and the Prom will be held on Friday 23rd June 2017.

    Mr Reynolds has organised, Bin IT! to visit Year 7 students tomorrow. The Bin It! Roadshow is an educational resource performed live at your school, designed to address the environmental & social impact of littering.

    22nd May 2017

    Year 9 students will be receiving their inoculation injections during Tuesday morning. They are to be given their specific appointment time by the Form Tutor, and it is essential that they arrive at the appointed time, so as to avoid delays for other students.

    The School Nursing Team are available for confidential chats with students, regarding any medical concerns or issues, on specified days throughout the year.

    The School Nursing Team will be available at Ash Hill Academy at lunchtimes on the following days:

    The Year 11 assembly on Monday 15th May 2017 will be led by Mrs Callaghan, detailing information around the exams for the coming week.


    12th May 2017

    On Thursday 11th May 2017, a group of our Post 16 Health & Social Care students visited the Doncaster Royal Infirmary, along with their teacher Mrs Doyle. The visit allowed the students an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the careers they may wish to pursue, and to look at future careers in the Health & Social Care sector, as they talked to professionals.

    The group received really positive feedback from the organisers, Sheffield Hallam University and Doncaster Royal Infirmary, saying, “Your stude

    The next attendance competition has now begun, with “Meerkat May”! All form groups with attendance above 97% between 2nd May 2017 and 31st May 2017 will be entered into a draw. One form in each year group will be selected at the end of the month, and will get a free day out at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park!

    For your chance to get your form group to see the animals, just make sure you attend the academy as much as possible – good luck.

    28th April 2017

    Doncaster’s first ever ‘Teenage Market’ will be taking place on Saturday 13th May 2017 in the Market Place, Doncaster. Running from 10.00am to 4.00pm it is designed for young people aged 13 to 25, to get involved and showcase their talents and entrepreneurial skills.

    Young people are encouraged to participate in creating a great event for Doncaster, with a vibrant and exciting festival atmosphere! The Teenage Market is FREE to take part in so participants don’t have to be established traders or performers.

    The academy will be closed to students on Friday 28th April 2017 for a staff training day and Monday 1st May 2017 for the May Day Bank Holiday. The academy will reopen to students at 8.00am on Tuesday 2nd May 2017.

    This month is ‘Amazing April’, our latest attendance competition! For 100% attendance, students can earn themselves a seat at one of four movie nights – to be held on 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th May 2017. The films have yet to be decided, and students are being asked to pass their suggestions to Form Tutors, who will in turn pass them on to Learning Managers. Students who achieve 100% will be able to decide which film they would like to stay and watch.

    Sweets and drinks will also be on sale during the movie night

    Students from Year 10 were treated to an action-pack and informative morning courtesy of the Royal Navy Youth Engagement Team before lunch on Friday 7th April 2017.

    Having being split up into two working groups, the students took turns in the following sessions:

    - Catering aboard – delivered by a qualified Royal Navy Chef, students saw how sailors are kept fit and healthy through the food they are served. A delicious chicken curry was prepared and offered for tasting, whilst students had the opportunity to qu
