We’re proud to announce that we are taking part in the @ReadforGoodUK #Readathon until 18th April—a fantastic initiative that combines a love of reading with meaningful charitable action.
Students are encouraged to choose their own reading material. Whether it’s novels, comics, non-fiction, or poetry and log their progress to raise funds. Every penny goes towards providing books and storytelling sessions for children in hospital, making a real impact on young lives across the country.
This initiative is not only about giving back, but also about fostering a deep and lasting love for reading. Research shows that reading for pleasure is one of the most powerful tools for academic success, enhancing literacy, comprehension, creativity, and emotional wellbeing.
By empowering students to read what they enjoy and supporting a worthy cause, our participation in the Readathon supports key aims of our Literacy Strategy, SMSC development, and wider curriculum enrichment all of which contribute to a positive reading culture that Ofsted would recognise as supporting personal development and learning across the curriculum.
Let’s make a difference, one page at a time! 📚
